Hi, I'm Denise.

I think my love of sewing must have come from my mom and gran, who were both a big influence on me. I watched them for years before I ever sat down at a machine myself, and I think that's where I learned that the best things are made slowly, and made well.

Over the years I've made all sorts of things — for my own family, for friends, for anyone who needed something stitched with a bit of care. I've always been practical by nature. I like making things that are useful, uncomplicated, comfortable and beautiful, in that order.

Bamba Baby is a new direction for my sewing. I've started with babies and young children, because there's something special about making things for the smallest people in a family — the sleep sacks, the blankets, the little bibs that get used every single day.

I choose fabrics I love, and I keep the designs simple and practical, because that's what actually gets used. I make the Cuddle Goose the same way I'd make it for one of my own grandchildren.

I also make children's dresses, and I hope that becomes a bigger part of Bamba Baby as we grow.
